Apparences trompeuses, Maison de la culture de Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, Montréal, Québec (Canada) 2015
This new body of work is centered on everyday objects that are composed in fanciful ways that literally turn the observers’ conventional idea of the objects upside down. They are simple and familiar items that have been transformed, finding a new purpose.
The changes and newfound uses for the items bring the very identity of the object into question. Like with camouflage, appearances can be deceiving and, often times, misinterpreted.
