Mutations ll, Action Art Actuel, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu (Québec) Canada - 2014

In this exhibition, I present an immersive site-specific installation inspired by the permanent construction site of our lifestyle. Through a heap of miscellaneous trinkets, antiquities, and ordinary time-worn items, my assemblages stand as the physical materialization of the excess and wastefulness of Western society. By accumulating these "bulky items" that have lost their purpose, my artworks act as mirrors of our economic and environmental indifference, exposing our tendency to hoard the useless far from sight. The installation thrives on a continuous dialogue between the gallery’s objective cartography and my own subjectivity, reorganizing these remnants into genuine makeshift architectures. The precarity of these structures directly echoes the transitory forms of informal encampments and survival spaces. By inviting the public into an active wanderment through this material memory, my physical occupation of space stands as a gesture of resistance and a powerful assertion of identity, transforming these vestiges of consumerism into a territory for poetic grounding.
